Delicious
granola bars
3 cups old
fashioned oats
1 cup rice
crispies
1 cup wheat germ
1 ½ teaspoons
cinnamon
2 cups flour
handful of
raisins, dried cranberries
1 ½ teaspoons
salt
1 ½ cups packed
brown sugar
LOTS of nuts we
use raw cashews, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds. Maybe a handful of
each
Put above in bowl
mix together
Then make a hole
in the center and add:
1 cup honey
2 eggs
1 cup vegetable
oil (going to try applesauce)
4 teaspoons
vanilla extract
(you need all the
sugar and honey to make it stick together, I have not found something
else to use instead and not had them crumble)
Mix with spatula
9 x 13 pan lined
with foil. This will make really thick chewy bars if you want them
thinner use bigger pan or two smaller pans. Oven 350, cook about 25
minutes til edges are slightly brown, cut with pizza cutter before
they cool. When cool transfer to sealed container to keep them from
drying out with a spatula. Usually the first couple bars are hard to
get out then the rest come out easily.
This is a double
recipe for a big family. We can eat it in 3-4 days.
