Lucas is 5 months old!

A little late but thats ok.
Lucas is growing growing and so fun. He is laughing tons, yelling, eating his feet, kinda rolling over, chewing on everything and quite the ham!!
He cracks us up with his own little personality so different from the other boys. Oh and he loves to play with tissue paper!
He gets passed around where ever we go and he loves it! (thank goodness)

Delicious granola bars

3 cups old fashioned oats
1 cup rice crispies
1 cup wheat germ
1 ½ teaspoons cinnamon
2 cups flour
handful of raisins, dried cranberries
1 ½ teaspoons salt
1 ½ cups packed brown sugar
LOTS of nuts we use raw cashews, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds. Maybe a handful of each

Put above in bowl mix together

Then make a hole in the center and add:

1 cup honey
2 eggs
1 cup vegetable oil (going to try applesauce)
4 teaspoons vanilla extract
(you need all the sugar and honey to make it stick together, I have not found something else to use instead and not had them crumble)

Mix with spatula

9 x 13 pan lined with foil. This will make really thick chewy bars if you want them thinner use bigger pan or two smaller pans. Oven 350, cook about 25 minutes til edges are slightly brown, cut with pizza cutter before they cool. When cool transfer to sealed container to keep them from drying out with a spatula. Usually the first couple bars are hard to get out then the rest come out easily.
This is a double recipe for a big family. We can eat it in 3-4 days.

Lava Monsters!

Well if you know us no need to update....been a year had a baby, Craig started a new job and we will see if we can get back into this blog thing!!!
What are you doing today?
We are fighting lava monsters that take over our kitchen every Monday for Monday Mop Day!  Started this a couple weeks ago and the weekly chore of cleaning our floors has gotten a whole lot more interesting.

If we can manage to clean up all the lava then the monster has no where to live and dies!!! They love it as they fight the bad lava in every corner and then run to the cousin's house where he is hiding (the bathroom ) and get his weapons that live around the floor of the toilet!!!!.  In about 10 minutes all the floors are shiny clean and our house is safe for another week from the lava monsters!!! Pretty fun and such a relief as they love it!!!!
What cool cleaning/monsters is anyone else working on this week!?

raising boys..

IT seems as though we have left the toddler hood of boys and entered some type of crazy land of young manhood. The energy in our house is out of control, along with the injuries that come with the energy.. PRAYING for WISDOM, PATIENCE, THE ABILITY not the stifle their manhood and adventure spirits. But there are lines to be drawn.
Like
No jumping of the top bunk of bunk beds (even though it does sound like fun)
No swinging on our gate while your playing bucking bronco in the front yard and jumping out the bull shoot
No catapulting over the couch and smashing your head into the floor....
No spinning people in the office chair so fast they fly across the room
No laughing at the table during meal time so loud the baby we watch cries!!!

WE have instated intense regimen of exercises during the day but they haven't helped so far!!!
I believe the solution to all this is a trampoline......it could change my life FOREVER!

HELP someone rescue me!

Anyways I came across this book which I may get and their website

Repentence...forgiveness

Forgiveness

If we are wretched and sinful and desperately in need of a Savior and His forgiveness (Ro 3:23 Luke 5:32). . .

and our hearts are deceitful and desperately sick (Jeremiah 17:9) . . .

and in need of submitting it to the authority and truth of the Bible. (Psalm 1 & 119:11) . . .

then when was the last time someone came to you in humility and repented for something—especially a “pretty sin?”

or better yet, when was the last time you went to someone outside of your home, acknowledged the area/thing that was not in submission to the Gospel and asked for their forgiveness? (James 5:16) . . .

then in the off chance that there is repentance, the forgiver does not say “I forgive you” but rather “it’s okay.” Okay, really? What’s okay about sin?

We train our children. Hopefully, we are teaching them how to own their sins, repent to others and to forgive wholeheartedly.

Are we letting that teaching seep into our own hearts?

Just a thought I have been mulling over when I think about God’s community & what a Biblical worldview holds in this area of life.
